A local twist on a classic refreshment
Muddled mint, the pop of carbonation, the cheeky tartness of lemon and huckleberry. This mouth-watering combination can only mean one thing—okay, two things: Summer is here, and we need this mojito from Montana Distillery.
406 Mojito by the Montana Distillery
A Missoula favorite is Montana Distillery’s 406 Mojito, featuring their Huckleberry Vodka made from sugar beets, huckleberries, and a little honey. That’s right, no artificial flavors or added sugar in this cocktail! Jacob Stalnaker, bartender at the Montana Distillery, breaks down the recipe for folks to make at home.
- 1 oz. Montana Distillery Huckleberry Vodka
- 1/2 oz. lemon juice
- 1/2 oz. simple syrup
- 1 oz. sweet and sour
- Soda water
- Sprig of mint
First muddle the mint in a highball glass and then fill the glass with a scoop of ice. Then, in a martini shaker, add ice, Montana Distillery Huckleberry Vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and sweet and sour. Shake well and then strain into the glass. Finally, top with soda water.
Don’t like huckleberries? Try making the Montana Distillery’s Salish Mojito. Substitute the Huckleberry Vodka for the Montana Distillery’s Cherry Vodka, or stop by the distillery for fresh drink ideas.
